goodbye xfce and hello boot time

I changed to a full gnome desktop, xfce doesn’t feel right. Ubunut Netbook Remix is fun.

I’m working on the boot time now, removed a bunch of rc scripts and installed rsyslog, mingetty.
Additionally I removed anacron and mlocate, remove the “auto eth0″ line from /etc/network/interfaces and installed ifplugd instead.

update-rc.d -f avahi-daemon remove
update-rc.d -f bluetooth remove
update-rc.d -f lighttpd remove
update-rc.d -f nvidia-kernel remove
update-rc.d -f openvpn remove

After reading a discussion on the acer forum I set CONCURENCY=shell in /etc/rc.d

bootchart till desktop
